SIKESTON - Lucille Tidwell, 90, died at 7:42 a.m. Aug. 31, 2005, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 6, 1915, in Matthews to the late James Edward and Alice Cordelia Starkey Cox, she was a homemaker. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, she sang in the church choir for many years, was member of the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday school and Bible school.
On May 18, 1936, in Blodgett, she married Elvis Tidwell, who preceded her in death on July 16, 2000.
Also one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Melvin Dowling of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Pam and Bill DeLine of Charleston; two grandchildren, Dr. Chris Crenshaw of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Christy Counce of Cordova, Tenn.; and seven stepgrandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Wesley Stutts, Donny DeLine, Byron Luber, Kenneth Vowels, Jeff Limbaugh and Wilson Tidwell.
