SIKESTON - Charles Ellsworth "Bud" Yant, 75, died at 11 a.m. Jan. 13, 2006, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Sept. 18, 1930, in Sikeston, son of the late Charles William "Charlie" and Eva Missouri Price Yant, he was of the Baptist faith. He worked 19 years for Sikeston Paint before becoming a commercial glazier, and worked another 21 years at J and L Glass Service before retiring in October 1992. He then went to work for Sikeston Public Schools as a custodian for six years and again retired in 1998 at the age of 68. For approximately 30 years he was a member of IOOF 358 Lodge where he was a Noble Grand and Past Grand.

On Oct. 25, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married the love of his life, Norma Jean McCain, who survives of the home in Sikeston.

Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, David Ralph and Barbara Yant of Matthews and Charles E. "Chigger" and Leona Yant Jr. of Crestview, Fla.; one brother, Ronald Joe Yant of Morehouse; two sisters, Betty Lou Frazier of Lakeland, Ga., and Carolyn Sue Little of Texas; seven grandchildren, David Yant Jr. of Florissant, Jennifer Yant and Joshua Cooper, both of Sikeston, Richard Waterson, Katrina Walker and Patrick Yant, all of Crestview and Sue-Anne Savoir who is currently in Iraq; five great-

grandchildren, William Adams and Aniya Walker, both of Crestview; Skyla Savoir of New York and Justin Dolan and Conner Yant, both of Florissant; and one dog, Bandit, of the home.

Two brothers, Billy Wilson Yant and Ralph Robert Yant, and three sisters, Elna Estelle Norris, Shirley Mae Byford and Connie Delos Santos, preceded him in death.

He is survived by lots of special relatives and friends that loved him.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where funeral services will he held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Rick Ramsey and the Rev. David Jackson, pastors of First Baptist Church in Sikeston, will be officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
