PORTAGEVILLE -- Lourene Caldwell Thacker, 85, died Nov. 13, 2005, in Kennett.
Born Feb. 4, 1920, in Chickasaw County, Miss., daughter of the late William Wesley and Nora Hoke Caldwell, she was a member of College Hill Baptist Church in Calhoun County, Miss., but attended the Boekerton Baptist Church in Portageville. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, James Kirk Thacker Sr., preceded her in death.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William Brose Thacker; two daughters, Frances Ruth Thacker and Mamie Annette Thacker; infant twins; one brother, Glen Caldwell; two sisters, Nell Redcher and Sue Tanguey; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include: three sons, J.K. Thacker Jr., Wayne Thacker and Johnny Thacker of Portageville; five daughters, Nancy Ellen Serigstad of Lake San Marcus, Calif., Linda Forrester and Gail Burton of Portageville, LaQuita Gloth of Rockwell, Texas, and Dorothy Turner of Kennett; and 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City, Miss., with Danny Burton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Chickasaw County.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
