Born Feb. 16, 1935, at Poplar Bluff to the late Fielen Young Johnson and Virginia Medley Johnson, she was a member of the First Church of God in Dexter and was a former welder for Arvin-Meritor in Dexter.
On April 16, 1952, at Poplar Bluff she married Fred Smith, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: two sons, Ronnie Smith of Dexter and Larry Smith of Marble Hill; two daughters, Sandra Jane Lindemann of Baltimore and Trudy Lynn Smith of Dexter; three brothers, Jim Johnson of Shreveport, La., Jack Johnson of Poplar Bluff and Jerry Johnson of Stringtown; three sisters, Pansy Spencer and Kathy Johnson of Poplar Bluff and Julie Russell of Grandin; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael E.J. Smith; and one brother, George Johnson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Odus Eubanks will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Hagy Cemetery.
