SIKESTON - Duncan Gilchrist, 66, died Jan. 5, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 19, 1941, in Freeport, Ill., to the late Leslie and Virginia Bartlett Gilchrist, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an engineer for National Lock.
On July 14, 1964, he married Sheila Boyle. He later married Marie Hamra Yokley on Dec. 12, 1992, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, John and Sherry Gilchrist of Opelika, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Jeffrey Kuehn of O'Fallon and Suzanne and David Foret of Baton Rouge, La.; one stepson, Robert Yokley of Acworth, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Gena Tinnon of Campbell; one brother, Larry Gilchrist of Norman, Okla.; two sisters, Jean Gilchrist of Freeport, Ill. and Joan Kuhlmier of Montrose, Colo.; and five grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Committal services with full military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
