DEXTER - John W. Musgrave Jr., 78, died Jan. 6, 2008, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
Born Dec. 5, 1929, in Bernie, to the late John W. and Rosa Ann Masterson Musgrave Sr., he had grown up in Idalia, moved to Flint, Mich. for several years and returned to Dexter in 1952, where he was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a heavy equipment operator and had worked for Foster Land Grading.
On May 29, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., he married Bonnie Brown, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five daughters, DeAnna Roger, Barbara Karmas and Rose Marie Jackson of Dexter, Dana Hux of Essex and Debbie Cantrell of Bloomfield; four sisters, Rema Lang and Shirley Christman of Dexter, Imogean Harper of Bloomfield and Melba Billsbrough of Swartz Creek, Mich.; and 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Musgrave, Joe Musgrave and Owen Musgrave; and three sisters, Kathern Boyet, Blanche Scates and Irene Balkenbush.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Jack Rogers and Dale Rogers of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
