SIKESTON - Betty Lou Wright, 81, died Feb. 6, 2006, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner.
Born Jan. 1, 1925, in Sikeston, daughter of the late John T. and Mae Trent Gray, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She had been a clerk for the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities, co-
owned and operated Wright's Jewelers in Sikeston, and later operated Kirby's Sandwich Shop before retiring.
On Aug. 8, 1944, she married Charles Raymond Wright who preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2004.
Also preceding her in death were: three sisters, Dolly Kirby, Hazel Woodward and Mary Gonzales; one brother, Milo Gray; and two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
Survivors include: one sister, Pauline Gray Hill of Cape Girardeau, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Rick Ramsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate assisted by the Rev. Larry Davis, pastor of Trinity Gospel Church.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
