SIKESTON - Lynn Twitty, superintendent of Sikeston Public Schools, was advised yesterday that he had been voted to join the membership on the board of Central Midwestern Regional Laboratory Inc. The organization is federally sponsored and established for research and development in education and development in an area including eastern Missouri, western Tennessee, western Kentucky and southern Illinois.

SIKESTON - Tickets for the Man of the Year banquet, sponsored by the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce, will go on sale Monday, announced J.W. Hartzog. Paul Harvey, radio commentator and personality, will speak.

SIKESTON - Set construction for the next Sikeston High School drama department production is nearly completed. They will be presenting the musical "Once Upon a Mattress" March 20-22 at the Chaney-Harris Cultural Center. Show time is 7:30 p.m. nightly.

SIKESTON - Brian Doyen was one of the many categorical judges who took time out Saturday to judge the exhibits that were being displayed in the Sikeston High School Field House for the 1996 Science Fair.

NEW MADRID - A fire destroyed a shed behind the Tim Fowler home on Highway U in New Madrid Saturday afternoon. The fire, fanned by high winds, was kept from the adjacent residence, which suffered some heat damage. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
