DONIPHAN -- Phillip Gossett, 66, formerly of Poplar Bluff and Sikeston, died Jan. 28, 2006, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 14, 1939, in Crowder, son of the late Phillip I. and Ferrell Bennett Gossett, he was a member of Primitive Baptist Church, a cattle manager at Black River Angus Farms, and sung with The Countrymen music group of Caruthersville.
On July 25, 1983, at Blytheville, Ark., he married Patricia Sherrill who survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Mark Gossett of Riverside, Calif.; three stepsons, Ronald Hedge of Baton Rouge, La., Michael Hedge of Caruthersville and Linda Phillips of Hayti; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Jim Vines of Sikeston and Peggy and Danny Greene of London, Ohio; and one grandchild and two stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Ann Clark, and one stepgrandson, Lee Phillips.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan where services will be conducted at noon Wednesday.
Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
