DEXTER - John R. McCollough, 76, died Oct. 22, 2005, at his residence.
Born March 1, 1929, son of the late Wesley and Ethel Hutchcraft McCollough, he had lived near Dexter all of his life. He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Ark of Hope Church near Dexter and a veteran of the United States Army, having served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne.
On June 11, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married Lola Corlew, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: one son, Charles McCollough of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Connie Pruitt of Dexter; one sister, Louise Welch of Dexter; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Louie McCollough.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ark of Hope Church, with the Rev. David Hardin of Dexter and Jerry Cooper of Bloomfield, officiating.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
