EAST PRAIRIE -- Waymon Marshall "Monty" McTigue, 51, died Jan. 30, 2006, near East Prairie.
Born April 27, 1954, at Charleston, son of Bennie Sue McIlroy McTigue of East Prairie and the late Fremont Marshall McTigue, he lived all his life in East Prairie where he worked for 22 years at the family-owned business, McTigue Construction. He owned M & M Construction for the past 16 years, was a DeMolay and a member of the Jaycees and East Prairie Chamber of Commerce, serving as president of both organizations. He was also Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 1984.
On Aug. 27, 1988, he married Carlotta Joe Kersey who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Chandler McTigue of the home; one daughter, Maggie McTigue of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Rhonda McTigue of East Prairie; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Bobby Ditto of East Prairie and Michelle and Cullen Duke of Camp Point, Ill.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with Jon Archie officiating.
Entombment will follow at a later date.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Jones, Steve Secoy, Stuart Bain, Tony Childers, Tommy Crenshaw, Dennis Turley, Gene Thresher and Marshall McTigue.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Tre Hammontree and Grady Williford.
