DEXTER -- John D. Dial, 72, died Jan. 25, 2006, at his home.
Born April 5, 1933, in Cuba, Ala., son of the late Charlie and Nellie Williams Dial, he had lived in Alabama, Granite City, Ill., and Charter Oak before moving to Dexter in 1994. He was a member of the Eagles, the Am Vets in Illinois and Union Local 67.
On July 1, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., he married Anna Ruth Scroggins who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, David Bruce Dial of Granite City and James Dial of Mitchell, Ill.; one daughter, Ruth Byrum of Mitchell; five brothers, Robert Dial of California, Jim Dial and Jake Dial of Indiana and Walt Dial and Pete Dial of Alabama; and two grandsons.
In addition to his parents, two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Mike Watkins of Dexter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
