PUXICO - Marion Wilbert Smith, 72, died Dec. 16, 2005, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Center.
Born June 29, 1933, in Neelyville, son of the late Charles and Bertha Delaney Smith, he had lived in Puxico for many years and was a retired carpenter.
He was first married to Barbara Biggs. He later married Barbara Powell Howard, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Janet Smith of Poplar Bluff, one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bill Cannaday of Poplar Bluff; one stepson, Richard Howard of Jackson; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Melodie and Wayne Summers of Poplar Bluff and Candy and Gary Williams of Broseley; one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Hazel Smith of Poplar Bluff; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Goldie and John Meyer of Overland and Pauline Gallion of Bellevue, Ill.; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: four brothers, Taze, Leroy, Odes and Kenneth Smith and two sisters, Grace Ashby and Lydia Poglejan.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Dean Medlin of Parma, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
