SIKESTON - Roy E. Collins, 71, died Oct. 8, 2007, at his home in Sikeston.
Born July 29, 1936, in Carney, Okla., son of the late Edgar Alvin and Goldie Elnora Sadler Collins, he was a member of Blodgett Baptist Church. He had worked as a welder for Holland Hitch in Holland, Mich., before retiring.
He was married to Della Collins; she preceded him in death.
Two brothers, Don Collins and Ralph Collins, also preceded him in death.
On June 29, 1996, he married Ruth Armstrong Eddington, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Gary Collins of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Debra Baker of Fennville, Mich. and Teresa Pezzuto of Marquette, Mich.; one stepson, Jerry Eddington of Newport, Ark.; one stepdaughter, Mary Jane Barr of Bentonville, Ark.; two brothers, Joe Collins of Fennville and Kenneth Collins of Holland; two sisters, Melba Colbert of Sikeston and Dickie Lynxwiler of Bloomfield; and 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Visitation will also be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville, where services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Franklin J. Senters, pastor of Richmond Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Fennville Cemetery in Fennville.
