DEXTER - William Fortner, 76, died Sept. 24, 2005, at his home in rural Dexter.

Born July 13, 1929, in Flint, Mich., son of the late Clyde and Lillie Allstun Fortner, he was a retired carpenter and a U.S. Army veteran.

On April 1, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., he married Violet Lee who preceded him in death on April 25, 1990.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Rowe of Dexter; two sons, Terry Fortner of Dexter and Richard Fortner; eight grandchildren and 14 great-

grandchildren; and a special friend, Delores Sharp.

Graveside services were conducted Monday at the Hagy Cemetery with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The Rev. Vaughn Wright officiated.
