SIKESTON - Work of painting the woodwork on the outside of the Sikeston Public Library is in progress this week.

SIKESTON - The first of four Accent on Youth concerts, which starred Allin Leslie, played to a 275-seat packed house Sunday afternoon at the Holiday Inn banquet room.

SIKESTON - Fifteen young bulls brought prime choice prices at a sale at the Sikeston Auction Saturday by member of 4-H and Future Farmers of America from four counties.

SIKESTON - Wilmer "Vinegar Bend" Mizzell, a former major league pitcher, will be guest speaker at the Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony at which six individuals will be honored. The banquet is scheduled at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Sikeston High School Field House.

SIKESTON - Elizabeth Joyce Kenser, 9-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kenser of Sikeston, won the queen title in the America's Most Beautiful Girls preliminary pageant held at the Holiday Inn on Nov. 7. She received a 4-foot trophy, a crown and a gift. She also won a trophy for being Most Photogenic and a 5-foot trophy and stuffed animal for being Overall Most Beautiful. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hosey of Sikeston.

SIKESTON - Four persons will be honored during the 13th Annual Recognition Program of the Daughters of Sunset. Honorees will be Shirlee Harris, Roylean Howard-Knox, Dianne Jackson and Jessie Lane.
