NEW MADRID -- The NMCCMS 7th and 8th grade football teams opened their seasons Thursday night with impressive victories over Kennett.

In the 7th grade ballgame, Central rolled to a 18-0 victory over the Indians led by G'Darius Stevensons' four rushing touchdowns. The hit of the night was delivered by Matt Burk, who forced a fumble near midfield in the first half. The Eagles dominated Kennett and never allowed the Indians to threaten.

The 8th grade contest was also controlled from the opening kickoff by the Eagles as they dominated 48-0.

Kony Ealy returned the opening kickoff to midfield and scored on the second play from scrimmage. The balanced attack was led by Ealy, Lennies McFerren and Rodney Anderson, who all reached the end zone. Dontre' Jenkins threw for one touchdown and delivered several nice option tosses throughout the night.

Defensively, a team effort swarmed the Indians all night with Patrick Goforth making a great tackle which ended Kennett's only chance of reaching the goal line.
