EAST PRAIRIE - Melburne Francis "Bud" Hedge, 70, died Jan. 1, 2006, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born May 11, 1935, in Mississippi County, son of the late George Martin and Hattie L. Moore Hedge, he was a retired truck driver and lived in Mississippi County his entire life.
On Dec. 2, 1954, he married Matilda Ann "Tillie" Poley, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Eddie Francis and Karen Hedge of Springvile, Tenn., Dean Allen Hedge of Festus and David Martin and Becky Hedge of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Wendell Johnson of Arnold; one brother, Jimmy Morrow of Mill Creek, Ill.; six sisters, Mary Kinder of Thebes, Ill., Betty Norman of St. Louis, Bonnie Pinter of Elco, Ill., Barbara Comans of Bogalusa, La., Opal Comans of Pearl, Miss. and Karen Hedge of Cecil, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by: four brothers, Curtis Hedge, Alvin Hedge, Don Hedge and Tommy Hedge; and one sister, Rita Comstock.
Visitation is at 4 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Shelby Chapel, with George White officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie Hedge Jr., Lee Johnson, Michael Johnson, Steven Kuykendall, Charlie Hedge, Dean Hedge Jr., Robert Hedge, Ryan Hedge and Blake Hedge.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Amy Hedge and Elizabeth Johnson.
