Born Nov. 28, 1936, in St. Louis, son of the late Raymond and Esther Pogue Heiligtag, he live din St. Louis until moving to Puxico seven years ago. He was a heavy equipment operator with Perkins Contracting in St. Louis and was a member of Local Union 513.
On Aug. 19, 1996, he married Marilyn Payton who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, David Heiligtag of St. Louis, Wayne Heiligtag of Villa Ridge and Michael Heiligtag of Deland, Fla.; two daughters, Maureen Crocker of Belgrade and Janice Ford of House Springs; one stepson, Troy Faries of Troy; one sister, Marjorie Smith of Park Hills; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico. The Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico will officiate.
