SIKESTON - Clara Jo "Mickey" Jones, 70, died at 11:48 a.m. Jan. 3, 2006, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 10, 1935, in Sikeston, to the late Malcolm and E. LaRue Heath Monan, she was a registered nurse and had worked at the Cairo, Ill. Hospital. She had worked as a nurse at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid, was a member and past worthy matron of the order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Cairo and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sikeston Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3319.
In 1956, in Corinth, Miss., she married Glen Jones, who preceded her in death March 31, 1985.
One sister also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Scott Jones of Glendale Heights, Ill.; one stepson, Glen M. Jones of Ocala, Fla.; five daughters, Judy Hargrove of Sikeston, Glynna McWaters of Barlow, Ky., Martha Henckell of Jackson, Mo., Casey Hoffman of Union City, Tenn. and Jennifer Young of Dayton, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Barbara Gray of Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Joyce Poynor of Wickliffe, Ky.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. John Tolbert, pastor of the Calvary Cornerstone Church of Advance, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
