Pemiscot County man is rescued from grain bin

CARUTHERSVILLE - A Pemiscot County farm worker was apparently uninjured after being trapped in a grain bin.

The Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department received a 911 emergency call at 3:45 p.m. Monday reporting a farm accident on the Tidwell Farms, located on Pemiscot County Road 425. James Sawyer, 56, of Deering was trapped while working in a grain bin filled with soybean, according to the caller.

Pemiscot County deputies along with personnel from the Kennett Fire Department and the ambulances from the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital at Hayti and Twin Rivers Hospital at Kennett responded to the scene.

The man was removed from the grain bin without injury. He was examined by medical personnel at the scene and did not require further medical attention.
