CORSICANA, Texas -- Helen Shipman White, 87, died Jan. 7, 2006, at the Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Corsicana.
Born Oct. 29, 1918, in Eldorado, Ill., daughter of the late George and Izaria Wells Crowe, she had lived in Dexter, Mo., for many years before moving to Texas five years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was first married to James Curtis Shipman, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1958. On May 19, 1979, in McDougal, Ark., she married Eltee White who preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Dean Shipman; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include: one son, Gene Shipman of Corsicana; two sisters, Gladys Sadler of Dexter and Jean Fugate of Lebanon, Tenn.; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. Tuesday until time for services at 3 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Dan Sitze of Bloomfield, Mo., officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
