SIKESTON - Crenshaw Distributing Co. announced the removal of its offices and warehouses to its new home on Highway 61 South.


SIKESTON - The Walton and Williams Motor Co. has been appointed associate dealer for the Quonset buildings for farm and industrial use and they can be used for temporary housing.

SIKESTON - Earl Hutchinson, Kiwanis program chairman for May, brought a good film prepared by the Bush Company with Joe Garagiola as commentator. The subject was "Spring Training" with the coaches showing players how to stand, how to catch, how to throw, etc.

SIKESTON - Springfest activities began with a musical bang Saturday night at the Sikeston Field House as Reba McEntire wooed the audience with her mellow country-flavored singing. Pake McEntire, Reba's older brother, warmed up the audience.


CAPE GIRARDEAU - In what is being called a milestone transplant operation, the heart of a Southeast Missouri baby declared brain dead after birth this week was implanted into an infant in Philadelphia. The recipient of the heart died early Thursday, 12 hours after the operation, but medical authorities said the cause of death was unrelated to the transplant. Authorities said the four-week old infant was the youngest cardiac transplant recipient in the world.

SIKESTON - The Bulldogs utilized one of the most exciting plays in baseball to pull out a 6-5 extra inning win at home over district rival Jackson, Thursday. With the score tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Dez Ziegenhorn laid down a squeeze bunt with Eric Shirkey on third base. When the dust cleared, Sikeston had a one run win.
