CHARLESTON - Ralph Reece Carr Jr., 68, died at 7:35 a.m. Oct. 10, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 7, 1936, in Charleston, son of the late Ralph and Geneva Murphy Carr, he had lived his entire life in Charleston where he was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a farmer and a pilot; he served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Charleston VFW Post 4294.
Survivors include: two daughters, Julie Elizabeth Davis of Charleston and Carrie Lynn Williams of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Shrum of Charleston; and one grandson, Johnathan Zirkle of Charleston.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mea Lou Butler and Patricia Ann Evans.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with Monsignor Richard Rolwing, senior pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church in Sikeston, serving as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery with the Missouri Military Honor Guard providing military graveside rites.
Pallbearers will be: Elliott Williams, Brad Tanner, Joe Shrum, John Shrum, Richard Hutcheson and Avery Hutcheson.
