EAST PRAIRIE - LaWanda Sue Jackson, 58, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9, 2005, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 3, 1947, in the Pultight Community near East Prairie, daughter of Mary Eveline Bone Hendrix of East Prairie and the late Alfred Thomas Hendrix, she lived most of her life in East Prairie where she was a member of the Full Gospel Church. She lived in Cape Girardeau for several years and was a sales representative for the Western-Southern Life Insurance Company. She was a 1966 East Prairie High School graduate and attended Southeast Missouri State University where she received an associate's degree in marketing.
On Oct. 11, 1966, she married Bill Jackson.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by: one daughter, Lori Jackson Aduddell of Springfield; two sons, Gregory D. Jackson of Stedman, N.C., and Michael L. Jackson of Indianapolis; two brothers, Bud Hendrix of Manteo, N.C. and Joie Lee Hendrix of East Prairie; two nieces, Deanna Hendrix Schaefer of New York, N.Y., and Shawna Crezencio of San Diego, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is at 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Mike Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Nancy Gamble, Mary Dean, Ruth Emerson, Carolyn Hendrix, Betty McEntire and Dorothy Brown.
