PADUCAH, Ky. -- Kireay K'Vion Spillers, 12, died Dec. 26, 2005, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Born Nov. 22, 1993, in Carbondale, Ill., son of Thomas Spillers of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Linda Hughes Senter of Paducah, he was a sixth grade student at Paducah Middle School, where he was active in football, basketball and baseball. He was a member of the gifted/talented program, the band, traveling all-stars and an honor student. He was also active in karate. A member of Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah, he was also active at Rhema Word Breakthrough International Ministries in Cape Girardeau.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one brother, Lavalle Spillers of Sikeston, Mo.; four sisters, Nykeaia Hughes of Paducah, Sabrina Spillers of Cape Girardeau and Charish Senter and Jade Carmen of Bowling Green; two stepbrothers, Tahjay Matthews and Cobret Joe of Cape Girardeau; his grandmothers, Joella Hughes of Mounds, Ill., and Hesther "Tutu" Spillers of Aurora, Ill.; his paternal great-grandmother, Annie Jane Spillers of Cairo, Ill.; his paternal great-great-grandmother, Louise Strayhorn of Pin Hook, Mo.; and his stepfather, Carlos Senter of Paducah.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rhema Word Breakthrough International Ministries in Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. Saturday until time for services at noon at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah. The Rev. Michael Wade will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Maple Lawn Park Cemetery at Paducah.
Williams Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
