SIKESTON - Muriel Lambert, 89, died March 9, 2008, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Aug. 4, 1918, in Iola, Kan., to the late Earl and Pearl Peterson, she was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ for 70 years and a rural route carrier for the Daily Standard.
In 1934, she married James H. Lambert, who preceded her death on Aug. 2, 1998.
Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Larry Dale Lambert, James Lee and Pat Lambert and David Wayne and Cheryl Lambert of Sikeston; one daughter, Peggy Boardman of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Lois Pigler of Kansas City; nine grandchildren, Tony Boardman of Memphis, Terry (Regina) Lambert, Melinda (Kevin) Kirkpatrick, Robbie (April) Lambert, David Wayne (Suzanne) Lambert of Sikeston, Mike (Verona) Lambert of Jackson, Stephanie (John) Johnson and Melanie Alleger of Nixa and Brandon Alleger of Marionville; and 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Funk; one brother, Rex Peterson; one son-in-law, Thomas F. Boardman, one grandson, Rik Lambert; and one great-great-grandson, Colton McLemore.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Pat Hogan of Shady Acres Church of Christ will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
