SIKESTON - Mrs. H. E. Rueber entertained with a party for small children at their home on North Ranney Avenue Monday afternoon to honor her son, John Thomas, who had his 5th birthday.
SIKESTON - The Bank of Sikeston's seventh annual new car show will be held Friday and Saturday. Nine dealers will take part. The new automobiles, trucks and trailers will be on display at the Bank of Sikeston parking lot adjacent to the post office beginning at noon Friday and ending Saturday night.

The St. Louis Food Crisis Network, associated with Second Harvest, a national Foodbank Network, would provide the staples for the Bootheel Food Bank.
SIKESTON - Each year the Sikeston Jaycees solicit other organizations to help combine a fun Halloween activity for families, while at the same time, provide funding for the DARE program that helps the children year round. This year's DARE Haunted Hayride will be held at the Jaycee Rodeo grounds from 7-11 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28.
SIKESTON - The Muscular Dystrophy Association sent a Scott County Sheriff's deputy to incarcerate Ramada Inn Manager, Greg Jenkins for fundraising "Lock Up" at the Sikeston Factory Outlet Stores Community Room. The bail was set for $400, the same price it would cost to send one child to MDA camp at Little Grassy Lake near Anna, Ill.
