SIKESTON - Two sons were born on the 19th. One to Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Montgomery of East Prairie and the other to Mr. and Mrs. Haskel Tubbs of Sikeston.

SIKESTON - Miss Margaret Ann Scott arrived Friday to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence C. Scott, and her brother, Bob Scott, and family. Miss Scott is working in Kansas City as staff attorney in the civil division of the Legal Aid and Defender Society of Greater Kansas City.

SIKESTON - Showing their Christmas spirit year-round, volunteers at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ of Sikeston donate their time to prepare food which is served to about 100 hungry people at a dinner held on the last Wednesday of each month. Food is donated by the congregation and members of the community.

SIKESTON - Dorene Johnson wishes nobody would go hungry for this Christmas. But the executive director of the Bootheel Food Bank in Sikeston says the number of area needy portrays despair. "We'll service 160 agencies this year, and served 120 last Christmas," said Mrs. Johnson.

SIKESTON - Scott Carpenter is the new owner of Susy Cues, 205 AA Road. Susy Cues offers pool tables, video games and other entertainment for customers. A former employee, Carpenter said when the opportunity to buy the business became available, he took it.

CHARLESTON - The Charleston Blue Jays easily defeated West Plains Saturday night with a 67-49 victory.
