CHARLESTON - Myrtle J. McClanahan, 90, died at 9:40 p.m. Dec. 23, 2007, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 31, 1916, at Bell City, to the late Virgil Edward and Myrtie Maude Duckett Jones, she was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School. She lad lived most of her life in Charleston, where she was employed for a number of years with the Brown Shoe Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
On March 19, 1938, she married Totts Lee McClanahan, who preceded her in death on May 9, 1983.
Three brothers, Carly Jones, Lawrence Jones and Harvey Jones; and one sister, Mary Jones Bronte also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy McClanahan of Las Cruces, N.M. and DeWayne McClanahan of Avon, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Gerald Collier of Ironton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
