PORTAGEVILLE - Jessie A. Vaughn, 88, died Jan. 10, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health System in Hayti.
Born Sept. 14, 1917, at Swifton, Ark., son of the late Lennie and Albert Vaughn, he was a veteran of the United States Army and operated the Portageville Pool Hall and Flea Market.
On Dec. 24, 1939, in Corning, Ark., he married Virginia Leggons, who preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 1996.
Two sons, Allen Eugene Vaughn and Elmer Lee Vaughn and one grandson also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth Midgett of Gideon, Bill Vaughn of Doniphan and Lonnie Vaughn of Morris, Ill.; one daughter, Darlene Vaughn of Portageville; six sisters, Altie Pritchett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Stella Benson of Kennett, Mo., Rose Wampfler of Rockford, Ill., Mildred Pritchett and Daisy Weaver, both of Reeves and Mary Hines of Hornersville; and 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 5 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Paul Quinn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
