CHAFFEE -- Crystal City led 12-0 just two minutes into the first quarter and rolled past the host Red Devils 48-21.
The Hornets (3-0) scored, then recovered a fumble and ran that in for a touchdown to build an early lead against Chaffee (0-3). Chaffee trailed 20-0 after one quarter.
Jeff Daugherty completed 16 of 31 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Zach McDaniel and Andrew Hendrix caught four balls apiece. Kent Courtney rushed for 70 yards.
Chaffee had one drive stall at the one-yard line and another drive end at the five.
"I think we took a step forward to be honest with you," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said.
Cody DeRousse rushed 16 times for 222 yards and two touchdowns for Crystal City.
PERRYVILLE -- Waylon Richardet rushed for 170 yards on 35 carries, but that performance was not enough to lift St. Vincent's football team to a victory Friday night.
The defending Class 1 state champion Indians fell to 1-2 as visiting Potosi improved to 3-0 with a 21-16 victory.
Earl Haug threw touchdown passes of 68 and 64 yards to spark the Trojans, who trailed 10-6 at halftime.
Brandon Casey's 10-yard run midway through the third quarter put Potosi ahead to stay at 14-10.
Trailing 21-10, Richardet scored on a 1-yard run with 4:27 left in the fourth quarter to make it 21-16, but a try for two points failed.
Potosi then recovered an onside kick and ran out most of the clock. St. Vincent got the ball back again in the closing seconds but did not threaten.
