NEW MADRID - Merline Gaddis, 86, died at 7:45 a.m. Sept. 11, 2005, at Beverly Health Care in New Madrid.
Born July 13, 1919, in Hornersville, daughter of the late John E. and Etta Farmer Shipley, she was a housewife and a member of Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church.
On April 1, 1939, in Kennett, she married Basil Gaddis who preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers, three sisters and two grandsons.
Survivors include: two sons, Russell Gaddis of Poplar Bluff and Charles Gaddis of Sikeston; one daughter, Janice McCanless of New Madrid; one stepdaughter, Judy Foushee of Bloomfield; and 13 grandchildren, 21 great-
grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Tom McCanless, pastor of Kewanee Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Scott Baker, Shon McCanless, Chris McCanless, John Gaddis, Jeffrey Gaddis and Tim Gaddis.
