Speakout 9/23

My comment is about the leash law in Sikeston. There are dogs running all over Sikeston and none of them are on a leash. I've been to the Complex and the park out behind Lowe's many times around 6 o'clock. There are people out there walking their dogs, but none of them are on a leash. These people need to be fined for this. People who do have their dogs on a leash can't walk their dogs because of the fear of these big dogs attacking them. I think something needs to be done about it.

I was reading SpeakOut about all these foreigners coming in and taking Americans' jobs. I agree. I think they should all go back to where they came from and let their government take care of them instead of ours. They came over and went to flying school over here so they could do the 9/11 job. Who do we blame for that?

Unsafe products from China, not just toys. These products are supposed to be inspected before exported. And inspected again by the U.S. inspectors when imported. Seems like another poor job being done. Maybe we shouldn't buy these products and we wouldn't have to worry about these inspectors or their safety. How about American made? That would sound good to me.

The only thing to watch on TV anymore is game shows and the old movies that we have seen over and over again. I still enjoy them. There was one soap opera that I thought was decent. I was shocked on Sept. 12 to see two of their youngest cast members on there, practically naked, having sex for the first time. It advocated that it was okay as long as they used protection. They were not making love, they were making sin. Needless to say, that is another program I will not watch. I have stopped watching another one because of homosexual scenes. The word gay used to mean happy, jolly, merry and fun-

loving. The church that I attend, in the past they boycotted products that sponsored such things or would try to find products not made by Procter and Gamble.

There was talk as to whether Barry Bonds should have an asterisk by his home run record. This is because of the steroids. Actually all of the modern day players should have an asterisk by their name. The reasons are this, the seasons are longer. The ballparks are smaller. The pitchers mound was lowered years ago to give advantage to the hitter. And because of expansion in recent years, there are many, many minor league caliber pitchers in the major leagues. Therefore all hitters should have a modern day asterisk by their names. Most of them couldn't have played 40 years ago.

I have a real good friend who fell off a real high building and injured himself. He's in the hospital right now, he almost died. He's got broken bones and stuff. He will maybe be coming home in about a week. Okay, he doesn't have a bed. His wife can't afford to buy him a bed, full size, queen or king, it doesn't matter, with a bed frame that will set up off the floor. If anybody has anything like this to donate to this gentleman, I know it would be appreciated. He is going to be disabled for a long time with a lot of physical therapy. You can call at 380-8497 or 472-6322. This would be very much appreciated.
