FLORA, Ind. - Buddy John Richardson Sr., 81, died at 10:38 p.m. Sept. 15, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.
Born March 25, 1926, in Clio Village, Mich., the son of the late Ivan and Barbara (West) Richardson, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific Campaign during World War II. He retired from the Chrysler Casting Plant, Kokomo, on March 31, 1981, as shift superintendent. He also served as plant manager at Southern Casting Plant, High Point N.C., from 1981 to 1983 and as superintendent at Angola Die Cast Plant in Angola from 1983 to 1985. He had worked at Down On Main Street in Greentown for the past six and a half years.
His memberships included Knights of Columbus, Kokomo, AOPA, American Legion, and he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 5146, Athens, Tenn.
Survivors are: his wife, M. Josephine Shy Richardson; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dixie and Mike Gibson, Barbara and Arthur Burge of Kokomo, Linda and Dennis Wade and Charlene Richardson of Athens; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Buddy John and Peggy Richardson Jr., Robert and Sandy Richardson, Pat Richardson and Doug Richardson, all of Kokomo and Rod and Kathy Richardson of Monticello; two sisters, Pat Hoel of Burlington and Dorothy Abbey of Flushing, Mich.; two brothers, Wally Richardson of Harrison, Mich. and Alston Richardson of Grayling, Mich.; and 31 grandchildren, 40 great-
grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Richardson; and one grandson.
Services were conducted at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
