East Prairie couple mark anniversary

EAST PRAIRIE -- Family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. George Edwards are invited to attend a reception in celebration of the couple's 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan 8 at the First Church of God Family Life Center, 320 N. Washington St., in East Prairie.

Edwards and the former Lois Drummond were married Jan. 5, 1956. Edwards is the son of the late Howard Orlin and Blanche Edwards, and Mrs. Edwards is the daughter of the late Thurston and Maude Drummond.

The couple have been residents of East Prairie their entire life. They have one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patty Edwards of East Prairie; and one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Ryan and Leslie Edwards of Murray, Ky.

The couple request gifts be omitted at the reception.
