SIKESTON - Set crew personnel and lighting technicians for the Sikeston Little Theatre production "Godspell" have been making final preparations. The two-

set musical will open Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Chaney-Harris Cultural Center.


SIKESTON - Several Sikeston merchants have scheduled a meeting for all retail merchants and landlords to discuss how to improve the retail shopping climate of Sikeston. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the City Municipal Building.

CHARLESTON - Contracts for construction of the tugboat "Dorena" and the barge, "The Hickman" - Mississippi County's ferry - have been executed and call for a June 1 completion date. Ron Crenshaw, chairman of the Port Authority, said the notices to proceed with construction were issued Dec. 30 after final review of insurance certificates and other documents were completed.


NEW MADRID - Nancy Pardon of Portageville, who was appointed public administrator of New Madrid County by Gov. Mel Carnahan in December, was officially sworn in by County Clerk Jim Farrenburg on Wednesday.
