Harl Looney

EAST PRAIRIE - Harl Walker Looney, 83, formerly of Tutwiler, Miss., died at 7 a.m. Feb. 10, 2006, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston.

Born April 20, 1922, in Kennett, to the late Louis and Ersa Green Looney, he had lived the past 18 years in East Prairie, was a retired mechanic and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

On Dec. 22, 1946, he married Lois Virginia Conyers, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Harl Wayne and Vicki Looney of Greenbriar, Tenn.; one brother, Lonnie Conyers of Wickliffe, Ky.; four sisters, Faye Youngblood Forrester and Helen Jacobs of East Prairie, Freddy Jo Colson of Carmi, Ill. and Rovenia Phillips of Troy; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No funeral services will be conducted. Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
