SIKESTON - A Sikeston-based bank's stand on eminent domain has caught the interest of a national television show.

Troy Wilson, chief executive officer of Montgomery Bank, will discuss the bank's position on eminent domain for private purposes, on Hannity and Colmes, the Fox News debate program. The interview is to be broadcast between 8 to 9 p.m. today and repeated at 1 a.m. Friday.

Recently Wilson announced the family-owned Montgomery Bank will not lend money for projects in which local governments use eminent domain to take private property for use by private developers.

"The sanctity of private property ownership is one of the hallmarks of our individual rights as private citizens. Eminent domain should only be used for public projects, not to benefit private developers," Wilson said.

Sikeston-based Montgomery Bank has seven St. Louis branches and six branches in Southeast Missouri.
