SIKESTON - Jamie Pell Sander was nominated by her colleagues as "Employee of the Quarter" at Bootheel Counseling Services. In naming Sander to the honor she was cited for her leadership, organization, dedication and dependability.

Sander has been with the agency for five years and has served as targeted case manager supervisor. Just recently she was promoted to director of Children's Services.

Sander resides in Jackson with her husband, Craig.

SIKESTON - Malco Theatres will again participate in its "Wrapped with Love" bow sales to benefit research of childhood diseases at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

The promotion kicks off Thanksgiving Day and runs through Christmas Eve at all 35 Malco Theatres, including the Malco Trio Cinema in the Midtowner Shopping Center at Sikeston.

Theatre employee will sell the bows, which are handmade from actual film, for $1 each. The materials and the production hours for the bows are donated making all proceeds from the event going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

SIKESTON - In honor of National Diabetes month in November, local dealerships will contribute $1 for every Chrysler Jeep and Dodge vehicle sold to the Iacocca Foundation's JoinLeeNow (www.JoinLeeNow.org) fundraising campaign to raise money for diabetes research. This partnership will run through the end of 2006.

Local participating dealerships are Morlan Dodge Inc. and Galemore Motor Co.

"Diabetes strikes all demographics, from those living in our area, nationally and around the world," said Gary Dilts, senior vice president for sales for the Chrysler Group. "We are proud to have our dealers" participate.
