Murder suspect is arraigned

CARUTHERSVILLE - A man accused in the shooting death of a Hayti woman was arraigned today on murder charges.

Carl Eskio Epkins, 29, of Hayti, was to appear today before Associate Judge Byron Luber on charges of first degree murder, first degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action. He is charged in the shooting death of Kesha Epkins, 20, of Hayti, was pronounced dead at 3:26 a.m. Thursday.

Also shot in the same incident was Eddie Guy Luster Jr., 21, of Hayti. Luster is reported recovering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Epkins is in police custody at the Pemiscot County Justice Center at Caruthersville. No bond has been set.
