MORLEY -- Mr. and Mrs. William Darrell Dollins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 29 with a surprise dinner and reception held at the VFW Hall in Morley.
The event was hosted by the couple's two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Kenny Newell of Patton and Donna and Brian McMillan of Jackson. Entertainment included a slide show telling their life's story, narrated by their daughter, Donna McMillan; a video presentation by their grandchildren; and songs sung by their daughter, Donna McMillan, and granddaughter, Summer Smith. Decorations were done by Julee Higgins and Mandy Ray.
Dollins and the former Ina Mae Russell were married Oct. 29, 1955, in Corinth, Miss.
They have three grandsons, who are all serving in the United States military, Nick and his wife, Marie, Mansker of Texas, Ben and his wife, Tina, Mansker of North Carolina and Geoff Mansker of Texas; three granddaughters, Julee Higgins of Scott City, Summer Smith of Cape Girardeau and Danielle Lefler of Bloomfield; three great-grandchildren, Tristan and Trinity Mansker of Texas and Matthew Higgins of Scott City.
The couple had lived in Riverside, Calif., and Buhl, Idaho, before retiring back to Missouri in 1988. He had been a professional carpenter and she had been a beautician, a riverboat cook and property rental manager for her nephew, David Russell. They also owned and operated Morley Cafe for several years.
