POPLAR BLUFF -- Kenny and Tina Shirrell of Poplar Bluff have announced the engagement of their daughter, Heather, to Justin Jones, son of John and Faye Jones of Oran.

A 1997 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School, the future bride earned a Bachelor of Science at Arkansas State University and a Master of Arts at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed as a speech pathologist with the Poplar Bluff School District.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Oran High School and is a self-employed farmer.

Plans are being finalized for a Dec. 3 wedding.
