Born Aug. 10, 1971, in Sikeston, she was the daughter of Suzanne Bowling Burch and the late Joseph David Reeves.
Rebecca was a very special young lady diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at a very young age. Rett Syndrome is a severe neurological disorder seen primarily in females and only rarely in males. Early developmental milestones appear normal but between 6 and 18 months of age there is a delay or regression in development, particularly affecting speech, hand use and mobility. A hallmark of RS is repetitive hand motion that becomes constant while awake.
She had attended New Dawn State School and the Kenny Rogers Children's Center.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: her grandmother, Iris Reeves; one stepsister, Becky Newman; and one stepbrother, Steven Burch.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, O.E. and Aladine Bowling and Marshall Reeves.
