EAST PRAIRIE - James Byron "J.B." Benson, 94, died Nov. 19, 2005, at his home.
Born Oct. 30, 1911, in Hickman, Ky., son of the late James Crosby and Buelah Kelly Benson, he was a retired Massey-Ferguson farm equipment dealer and a Missouri Century Farm farmer. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed cooking wild game.
On Nov. 20, 1937, he married Goldia Beck, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1994.
Two sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, LaDona and Rene DeKriek of Sikeston; one brother, Howard Benson of Sikeston; three grandchildren, Lee DeKriek and Kyle DeKriek of Sikeston and Becky D. Ault of Charleston; four great-grandchildren, Caroline DeKriek, Kathleen DeKriek and Marley DeKriek, all of Sikeston and Ruhl Ault of Charleston.
Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. with Elizabeth Wilson officiating.
