OLATHE, Kan. - Danny Evans, 54, died Oct. 4, 2005, at his residence.
Born Oct. 26 1950, in Kennett, son of Wayne Evans of Dexter and the late Wanda Huskey Evans, he was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene in Dexter. He was a former security officer at Mid-America Nazarene College at Olathe and had worked security in the Dexter area.
On May 21, 1970, he married Kathy Pope, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and father, survivors include: one son, Michael Martinez of Olathe; three daughters, Melissa Carter, Christina Evans and Megan Evans of Olathe; stepmother, Pat Evans of Dexter; one brother, Gaylon Evans of Union City, Tenn.; one sister, Ann Owens of Olathe; two stepsisters, Avis Murray of Jacksonville, Fla., and Naomi O'Connor of Velm, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9:30-11 a.m. Friday with services to follow at 11 a.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Gerald Beam will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
