BLOOMFIELD -- Virginia M. Penton, 86, died Nov. 28, 2005, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomfield.
Born Aug. 2, 1919, in Bloomfield, daughter of the late Andy Elmer and Fannie Clementine Bolin Rankin, she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, La., where she was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was a housewife and former resident of Herrin, Ill.
On Dec. 23, 1945, she married Francis Emery Butler who preceded her in death on March 17, 1976. She then married Estes G. Penton in Bogalusa, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2002.
One daughter, Marcia Ann Butler; one brother, Norman Rankin; and one sister, Francis Fay Williamson, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include five nephews and eight nieces.
Visitation is from noon until time for services at 2 p.m. Friday at Rainey-
Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Sam Brotherton will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
