Sikeston man dies from gun shot wound

SIKESTON - A Sikeston businessman died Friday afternoon from an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.

Keith Ziegenhorn, 72, was found at his home at approximately 2:30 p.m. with a single wound to his chest by Sikeston DPS officers and ambulance personnel who were dispatched to his home after a 911 call was received requesting an ambulance at his residence.

South Scott County Ambulance service transported Ziegenhorn to Missouri Delta Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m.

Ziegenhorn was a prominent Sikeston businessman who was involved in the insurance and real estate business in the Sikeston area for most of his life.
