JEFFERSON CITY -- Jody Christine Jordan and Matthew Eugene Essner were united in marriage May 7, 2005, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Jefferson City.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Jane Jordan of Jefferson City. Her grandparents are John and Anna Lee Young of Springfield, Frances Jordan of Jefferson City and the late Jack Jordan.

Parents of the bridegroom are Larry and Betty Essner of Benton. He is the grandson of Paul and Bertha Essner of Benton and Robert and Emma Gaines of Oran.

Maid of honor was Joanna Jordan of Jefferson City, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Richmond of St. Louis, sister of the bride; Amy Trube of Kansas City; Natalie Ramlow of Columbia; Hannah Hagan of St. Louis; Janelle Essner of Columbia, sister of the bridegroom; Kayla Essner of Benton, sister of the bridegroom; and Stephanie Thompson of Columbia, S.C. Justin Essner of Orlando, Fla., brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jamie Essner of Columbia, cousin of the bridegroom; Andrew Mothershead of Columbia; Luke Choate of Sacramento, Calif., Bandit Thorne of Scott City; Nick Hogan of New Madrid; C.O. Scheffer and Tom Venneman of Columbia.

Ushers were Marty Richmond of St. Louis, brother-in-law of the bride; Christopher Dirnberger of Columbia, Ohio; and Adam Obermiller of Columbia.

Flower girl was Jordan Richmond, daughter of Jennifer and Marty Richmond of St. Louis, niece of the bride.

A reception was held at St. Peters Church Selinger Centre.

The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 6 at the Selinger Centre.

Mrs. Essner is a 1997 graduate of Jefferson City High School and received a Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. She is the on-premise sales manager for Major Brands in Columbia. Essner is a 1999 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau. He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he received a Bachelor of Science in ag management and ag economics. He is owner/

operator of Tiger Snacks in Columbia.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple are residing in Columbia.
