EAST PRAIRIE - Opal Eileen Thornbrough, 87, died at 1:25 p.m. Dec. 8, 2005, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Nov. 20, 1918, in East Prairie to the late Walter and Ora C. Walters Jackson, she had lived all of her life in East Prairie, where she was employed for 10 years at the Western-Auto Store. She was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.
On May 2, 1936, in Whiting, she married Cloyce Marion Thornbrough, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1995.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Roy Berry of Shawneetown, Ill.; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janet Thornbrough of East Prairie; one sister, Willa Mae Smith of Winter Haven, Fla.; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie until time for services at 2 p.m. Saturday. Larry Lane will officiate.
Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
